United States Army Garrison Humphreys is undergoing a radical transformation that will soon make it one of the premier places to live, work and play not only in Korea, but in the entire United States Army.

Camp Humphreys is located about 35 miles south of Seoul, just to the southeast of Asan Bay. Camp Humphreys is one of Korea's fastest growing Army installations. It is the headquarters location for support of Eight United States Army and United States Forces Korea units south of Seoul and north of Taejon that includes units at Wonju (Camp Long & Camp Eagle), North East of Camp Humphreys. Camp Humphreys is the new home to United States Forces Korea. The installation covers an area about one mile wide and two miles long.

Camp Humphreys is located 55 miles south of Seoul on Expressway #1 and 8 miles southeast of Route #45. It is 8 miles west of the Bay of Asan on the West coast of the Korean Peninsula.

Camp Humphreys is the largest U.S. Army garrison in Asia. The 28,500 and growing U.S. troop presence in South Korea will be consolidated by 2016 and United States Forces Korea will move from Seoul to Camp Humphreys.  Camp Humphreys is home to the 2nd Infantry Division's Combat Aviation Brigade ("Talon Brigade"), consisting of the following subordinate units:

Camp Humphreys has several other tenants but also houses the Eighth United States Army military confinement facility. This detention facility is used to detain soldiers sentenced for no more than a year of confinement or until they are transferred to a military prison facility in the United States.

Humphreys Lodge provides rooms available for rent. Priority is given to Official Travel, PCS in/out and TDY. Personnel on leisure travel and family members visiting with the service members during their tour to Korea need to make arrangements in advance. USAG Humphreys Lodging is available on a space available basis for these two categories.

Housing

Service members who are waiting for housing assignment on or off-post will be in a temporary lodging allowance status (TLA) to off-set the cost of lodging. Military members who are authorized to move off-post can expect to find housing within 10 days of reporting. A one month security deposit is normally required.

USAG Humphreys Housing Handbook

Family housing range in size from 1,600 - 1,700 square feet. Each unit has a living/dining area, kitchen, storage room, laundry room, family room, bedrooms, 2 full baths, and plenty of closets and storage space. The units will be assigned to all grades of command sponsored families assigned to Area III.

Child Care

Child Youth Services (YS) offers activities for kids from five to 18 years of age. CYS Liaison Education and Outreach Services (CLEOS) provides one-stop registration for all CYS programs, sports activities, instructional programs, alternative child care options and referral services.

Camp Humphreys has recently open a new Child Development Center with a capacity of 300 children plus a Mother and Baby Room. This is a one of a kind place for mother’s to spend quiet time with their babies. Humphreys CDC is the only CDC in Korea to offer this setting. The room also includes a parent resource library for all parents to check out books that pertain to their child.

Schools

Children of Active Duty members and Command Sponsored DOD Civilians attend USAG Humphreys American School.  USAG Humphreys is uniquely joined with Osan AB to ensure all children have an opportunity to attend school. Osan AB has an Elementary, Middle and High School.

Many of the children at Camp Humphreys are from Non-Command Sponsored Families. There are optional choices available. The International Christian School (ICS) provides education for all grade levels except college. Home schooling is also available. For more information, contact the USAG Humphreys Elementary School.

Medical Care

Medical care and services are routinely available to active-duty military and their eligible dependents. Eligible retirees can receive medical care as available. Those services that are not available at this installation can be accessed through the local TRICARE office.

All Emergent (threatened loss of life, limp or eyesight) patients will be seen, stabilized and transported to an appropriate facility for definitive care.
