Google is number 1 on Fortune’s list, for the sixth year in a row. More

SAS is a leading software company that started from agricultural research and became a statistical software developer with wide-ranging applications. SAS employees are offered onsite fitness and child care facilities as well as subsidized meals and a pharmacy. SAS Institute Inc. is number 6 on Fortune’s list. More


Salesforce develops customer relationship management (CRM) software that helps small businesses connect efficiently with their clients when there’s an issue. In addition, they offer enterprise cloud computing for small business applications. Like many of the companies on this list, Salesforce gives employees 6 days of paid volunteer time annually, so that they can effectively give back to the community. They’re number 8 on Fortune’s list. More

League of Legends developer Riot Games flew their employees to the League of Legends World Championship in 2014. They also offer a $300/year fund for employees to purchase other games for their personal use. Riot Games is number 13 on Fortune’s list, their first year ranked.  More

Ultimate Software develops tools for HR and payroll automation. Each employee receives restricted stock in the company as well as medical and dental benefits, fully covered by the company. Ultimate Software is ranked number 21 on Fortune’s list.  More

My favorite thing is their intracompany Twitter, called Birdhouse - employees will shout out their colleagues’ exceptional work. World Wide Technology helps clients plan, procure and deploy IT products and solutions, such as cloud servers, analytics, and mobile application development. Amongst other things, WWT matches employee charitable contributions up to $500,000 per year and matches employee’s 401(k) contributions dollar-for-dollar up to 6%. They’re ranked number 28 on Fortune’s list. More


TurboTax and QuickBooks developer Intuit has previously been named the Most Admired Software Company as well as landing on Fortune’s Best Places to Work List for several years in a row. Intuit advocates an inclusive workplace and also advocates it socially - they sponsor a Girl Geek dinner in San Francisco that encourages discussion of inspiring female involvement into the tech field.
