State Farm Insurance was founded in 1922 by former farmer and insurance salesman, George Jacob “G.J.” Mecherle. As an insurance provider, it is the world's largest property and casualty mutual company. In case you did not know, a mutual insurance company is one that is owned entirely by its policy holders. What does this mean? It means that profits are rebated to customers in the form of a reduction in insurance premiums.

Over the years, the company's slogan, “like a good neighbor State Farm is there” has come to be associated with its insurance products and financial services. State Farm motorcycle insurance is one of the many products offered by this AM Best “A++” rated insurance carrier.
