Experience
Sarah Fisher is an associate editor for The Balance, where she edits new content. Sarah has long had an interest in personal finance and policy, which she honed during an internship at the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau. While there, she created a report comparing the CFPB consumer complaint database to other publicly available databases. She also interned with Senator Kirsten Gillibrand's office, where she responded to constituents, took Senate hearing notes, and assisted with agricultural trade research.
Sarah sharpened her writing chops at SmartAsset, covering personal finance, inheritance laws, investing, retirement, student loans, and tax laws. She joined Dotdash Meredith in March 2021 as an editorial resource coordinator on the Quality Team, and transitioned to The Balance in May 2022.
Education
Sarah holds a bachelor's degree in English, with minors in government and film & media studies from Georgetown University.
