Michael Souza is an environmental consultant with deep knowledge of fisheries and the fishing industry. He has more than 25 years of environmental experience and is an award-winning journalist.


Michael Souza wrote about fisheries for The Balance from 2010 to 2014 and based his articles on his experience covering the commercial fishing industry as a professional journalist. He wrote about fishery news and regulations and their impact on Rhode Island and the entire Northeastern U.S. at the Narragansett Times. He's an environmental consultant with knowledge of water, air, OSHA, and hazardous materials compliance issues.


Michael holds a bachelor's degree in civil and environmental engineering from the University of Rhode Island.
