Michael Rubin is a Certified Financial Planner (CFP) and a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) with more than 25 years of experience in the retirement planning, investment strategy, and tax planning industries. He has written dozens of articles on IRAs, 401(k)s, and more for The Balance and has also been featured in other notable financial media such as CNN Money, Money Magazine, and MarketWatch among others.

Michael began his career with two of the former Big Six accounting firms before founding Total Candor, LLC in 2005, a personal financial education company. After Total Candor, he took the position of Chief Operating Officer/Chief Financial Officer of Sleepnet Corporation in 2010 where he served until 2017.  Michael has since held positions at Amadeus IT Group and TravelClick.

Michael is the author of the book "Beyond Paycheck to Paycheck: A Conversation About Income, Wealth, and the Steps in Between." 

Education

Michael earned his bachelor's of Business Administration from the Ross School of Business at the University of Michigan. He also holds an MBA from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University.
