Where can you get a McDonald’s hamburger outside of the U.S.? As one of the most recognized brands in the world, McDonald’s now has more restaurants located outside the U.S. than it has in its own home country. Because the McDonald’s brand is so familiar and iconic to so many people around the world, a very frequently asked question is, "Where are the McDonald’s restaurants located outside of the U.S and around the world?"

Answer: McDonald’s opened its first international location in 1967 in Richmond British Columbia. More than 40 years later, there are more than 14,500 McDonald’s restaurants franchises owned and operated in international locations outside of the U.S.
