MassLive Internships

MassLive offers an 8 week paid internship program in its editorial and sales and marketing departments each year. These internships are organized by Advance Local, MassLive’s national affiliate.

The Summer 2015 Internship Program is a paid national talent development program designed to provide students with real life experience working in journalism, marketing or sales. Interns will work with local teams at an Advance Local affiliate in Alabama, Louisiana, Massachusetts, Michigan, New Jersey, Central New York, Ohio, Oregon or Pennsylvania.

Editorial Intern

Students selected for an editorial internship at MassLive will become part of their growing digital content team. This is a hands-on position whereby students will actually get a chance to write news stories, take photos and videos, and have daily interactions with its readers on their social media platforms.

What’s it take to be a successful editorial intern at MassLive? MassLive seeks candidates with exceptional writing skills and knowledge and experience using digital publishing tools. Summer interns will get an opportunity to come together for a national summit in the New York City area with fellow interns from across the country.

Sales and Marketing Intern

As a sales and marketing intern, students will get a chance to work to develop multi-platform advertising tools for both local and regional advertisers. Interns will work alongside the digital sales and marketing team, giving them an opportunity to see how they can gain knowledge and skills and apply them to the real world. MassLive seeks students that are self-motivated, goal-oriented, and possess strong problem-solving skills.

All current, full-time undergraduate or graduate students pursuing a degree in Journalism, Business, Communications, or related fields are encouraged to apply.

The internship runs for eight weeks starting the first week in June.

Deadline to Apply: Mid February (February 21, 2015)
