KPMG Internships

KPMG’s Internship Program employs approximately 1,300 students during the summer months and over 700 during the winter for up to 12 weeks.  The monthly salary for interns ranges from $2,000 to $4,000 per month.  The KPMG’s internship program is organized to ensure that every intern gains intensive on-the-job experience as well as a real understanding of the industry.

Interns will learn important professional skills as well as have an opportunity to determine what kind of work best suits them.  Interns are also assigned a “buddy”, someone who is just out of college within the last 12-18 months, to answer questions and explain how things work in the company. In addition, interns are appointed a mentor who will guide their career and provide feedback on skills, learning, and development.

Internship of the Week: The “Build Your Own Internship Program"

KPMG created the Build Your Own Internship Program to offer interns greater flexibility, choice, and opportunity.  The program allows interns to explore various options by providing early exposure to multiple disciplines.  In addition to real-world experience, the program also provides networking opportunities with peers, clients, and senior leadership.

What Is the “Build Your Own Internship” Program?

The Program allows students to intern in two practices (Audit, Tax, or Advisory) instead of just one. Students can select one core practice and one developmental practice, allowing them to gain experience in both disciplines. Within their Developmental Practice, interns will work on a variety of client engagements in order to gain a thorough experience. Participants will be assigned a performance manager who will assist in goal setting, give regular feedback, and ultimately help guide the intern as they consider full-time career options. Each intern is paired with a mentor at the start of their program to offer guidance and answer day-to-day questions.

How to Get Into the KPMG Build Your Own Internship Program

Students must first apply and be accepted for a KPMG internship.


Once accepted, students are then eligible to apply for the "Build Your Own Internship Program". Students will receive an invitation to complete an online application for the BYOIP.  Students should then speak with their local KPMG recruiter during the recruiting process.  The first step is to go to the KPMG website to build a profile.
