Kent Thune has over 20 years of experience as an investment advisor and financial planner, and is the owner of Atlantic Capital Investments​ in Hilton Head Island, South Carolina, serving clients all over the U.S. Prior to this, Thune was the Vice President and Senior Investment Advisor at American Pensions, Inc, a regional pension consulting firm.

Thune is also an accomplished writer and has been featured in numerous online publications, including MarketWatch, The Motley Fool, Kiplinger, Yahoo! Finance, Nasdaq, Investorplace.com, The Balance, Fit Small Business, The Big Picture, and Get Rich Slowly.

Education

Thune earned his CFP from The Certified Financial Board of Standards in 2008 and his master's degree in business administration from The Citadel in 2009.

He also has the Qualified Financial Plan Consultant designation, Series 7 and 63 securities licenses, and the Life, Accident & Health insurance license.

Thune received a bachelor's degree in music and business from Middle Tennessee State University in 1991.
