Internship Opportunities at Plante Moran

Internship Opportunities in Accounting & Management Consulting Services

With over 20 offices in Michigan, Ohio, and Illinois, Plante Moran is an upper Midwest firm that provides a variety of accounting and management consulting services. The company offers tax preparation, employee benefits consulting, technology assessment and planning, and wealth management services to consumers. The firm serves a number of industries ranging from retail and dealerships to health care, financial services, and manufacturing as well as the not-for-profit and public sectors.

In addition to their Midwest offices they also have offices in Mexico, India, and China through their accounting alliance with Praxity.

Some awards won by Plante Moran include the Top 50 Wealth Managers (#9), Forbes List, 2013; Employer of the Year, International Accounting Bulletin, 2013; and the Best Public Accounting Firms for Women, Accounting MOVE Project, 2013. It has also been among the 100 Best Companies to Work For in America for 15 consecutive years according to Fortune Magazine and it ranked # 37 in 2013.  One of the reasons for its long-term success is the firm’s long history of giving back to the community. Teams of volunteers (called P&M Cares) send care packages to troops overseas, support domestic-violence shelters, and are also involved in sewing quilts for children.

Internships:

Plant Moran was also ranked # 7 among the Best Overall Internships by Vault.com. Intern salaries range from $20 to $24 per hour.

Plante Moran is a small enough firm for interns to be able to contribute and have an immediate major impact on projects that the firm is currently working on. They want their interns to be successful and have a full-time Student Ambassador, whose job is to help make the transition into P&M smooth and easy.

Another cool feature of the company is that they have instituted a policy they call the “Jerk Free Environment,” a phrase coined by Fast Company magazine. One of the major benefits is that everyone has access to everyone else in the organization regardless of their position, including partners. Part of the company creed is to live by the Golden Rule, which is to treat their clients and their staff like they would want to be treated themselves. Past Interns have had very positive comments to say about the company, consistently commenting that “there’s no place like Plante Moran." If what you are looking for is a challenging career and the opportunity to work alongside some of the best and brightest professionals in the industry in a world-class culture and environment, then Plante Moran might be just the place for you.
