The Elliott Davis Internship Program ranks second, and higher than any other accounting firm.  Elliott Davis was also named one of the Best Places to Work in South Carolina by SC BIZ and the South Carolina Chamber of Commerce for seven consecutive years. The firm was also named among the Charlotte Business Journal’s Best Places to Work and as one of the Healthiest Employers of Greater Charlotte.  Key competitors include PwC, Deloitte, Ernst & Young, McKinsey & Company, and KPMG, among others.

Interns are deployed in Elliott Davis’ 8 offices across the southeast.   The annual number of internships ranges from 21 to 50, dependent on the qualifications of applicants and the workload of the company. Interns begin with orientation and training at corporate headquarters in Greenville, South Carolina, with travel paid for by the company.

Throughout the summer, interns work in their local offices alongside Elliott Davis team members on career-related tasks, team presentations and community volunteer efforts. In addition, interns are assigned a team project to develop with their local group. In 2014 each group was tasked with creating a video promoting the Envision experience.

The program ended with a celebration in Folly Beach, where each video was presented and a winner selected to be shown at recruiting events and posted to social media.

Interns are paid approximately $22 per hour during the internship and also enjoy free meals.  Plus there is an end of summer outing paid for by the company as well.  Interns gave Elliott Davis a 5-star rating.  They commented that “Elliott Davis throws you into the world of accounting with staff level work that you will be doing when you get out of college, which what all college graduates need in an internship.”  They also said “Elliott Davis provides a very manageable work-life balance that is not seen at some of the other firms. The employees are always willing to help work through any questions you may have and do their best to explain the process so that you have an understanding of what you are doing. Elliott Davis also brings together all of the interns at the various offices at the beginning and end of the internship so you are able to network with the other young professionals at your same level.

Internship Pick of the Week:

ENVISION is a 7 week summer internship designed to give interns an opportunity to explore career paths within Elliott Davis and obtain valuable work experience in the public accounting field. Students will begin their internship with an orientation and training at Elliot Davis’ corporate headquarters in Greenville, SC. The program is built around the company’s core values - serving clients, developing people, leading in their communities, and integrity. Interns work alongside Elliott Davis employees doing real client work, complete an intern project, volunteer in the community each week during office hours, and participate in leadership development activities.

Qualifications:

  • Candidates must be enrolled in an accounting program
  • Must be a rising junior or senior by the time the internship commences
  • Interns should have a good balance of academics and leadership experience, which could include leading a campus organization, playing a college sport, or working
  • Interns typically intern during June and July
  • Candidates Must have a GPA of 3.25 or greater
