Are you interested in learning more about companies you are interested in working at or have an interview scheduled with? LinkedIn Company Follow is a tool job seekers can use for researching employers and discovering contacts at organizations where they might like to work.

The Benefits of Following a Company

When you follow a company, you'll see company and career information, job listings, company news, corporate information and company updates.

There's also industry information, company size data, and a link to the company website.

Job seekers can utilize this information to assess company culture and identify developments and challenges at target organizations that relate to their interests and assets.

Review Your Connections at the Company

A list of your first and second-degree connections at the organization will be visible on the right side of the company profile page. You’ll also see how many employees at the company are on LinkedIn.

Job seekers can consult connections at the company to gain an insider's perspective on working at the firm. Company insiders may provide introductions to other staff in target departments or referrals to job openings.

Get More Connections

Underneath your second degree connections, you can click on the "Shared Connections" link to determine which of your first-degree contacts is directly connected to each second-degree contact.

Job seekers can then reach out to their first-degree connections and request an introduction to the second-degree networking prospects at their target organization.

LinkedIn Company Career Tab

In addition, there's a Career Tab for both companies and professionals. Job seekers can click on the tab to access available job opportunities at the company.

For example, if you take a look at the LinkedIn Company Page you'll see how you're connected to LinkedIn, jobs that you might be interested in, and insight into employees who work at LinkedIn.

How to Follow a Company on LinkedIn

  • Sign into LinkedIn (you'll need to register if you’re not a member)
  • Click the filter icon to the left of the Search box at the top of any LinkedIn page and select Companies from the dropdown
  • Type a company name in the Search field.
  • Click the Follow button to the right of the company name in the search results list.
  • If you’d like to learn more about the company before following, click the company name to see more details. You can click the Follow button in the upper right of that page to begin following the organization if you decide to do so.

How to Unfollow a Company

To update or change the list of companies you’re following, click on Interests, Companies, Following. You’ll see a list of the companies that you are following. You can “unfollow” a company by clicking on the check mark under the company name.
