When you're writing a resume, it's important to include all your contact information at the top of your resume so employers can easily get in touch with you.

How to Include Your Contact Information on Your Resume

Include your full name, street address, city, state, and zip, phone number, and email address.

Use a personal email address, not your work email address. If you don't have a personal email account, sign up for a free email account to use for job searching.

Check the email account frequently, so you can respond to employer inquiries in a timely manner.

It's important to have voicemail so hiring managers can leave a message when you're not available. You don't want to miss any important calls. Be sure that your voicemail message is professional sounding.

If you have a phone you can text on, you can note (texts accepted) next to the number, so recruiters can easily get in touch with you.

First Name Last Name

Your Address
Your City, State, Zip Code
Your Phone Number
Your Email Address
LinkedIn or Personal Website URL (if you have one)

Your name should stand out, so make it bold and a larger font than the rest of your contact information. Leave a space or put a horizontal line between the end of your contact section and the next section of your resume.

Quick Tip: Be sure to proofread your contact information, along with the rest of the information on your resume.

A typo in your phone number or email address (and it can happen) may prevent you from getting contacted for a job interview.
