The 'My eBay' system is one of the most useful parts of the eBay website. Whether you are an eBay buyer or seller (or both), you'll soon find that your 'My eBay' page is the eBay website feature that you use the most.

The summary view, which is shown to you if you simply click on “My eBay” at the top of any eBay page, can be particularly useful since it shows you details about and links to virtually every aspect of your eBay life.

It can do this much more efficiently, however, if you take a moment to customize it to your own eBay use habits.

Customizing Your My eBay Page

To begin the customization process for your My eBay summary page, simply click on “My eBay” at the top of any eBay website page (just as you normally would) to view your summary.

Make It Personal

Here's where you can add features you want and remove features you don't. Decide which types of information you want to see each time you visit My eBay and which of these types of information you don't need to see every visit. Any type of information listed in the "Views to Display" list will be shown to you each time you visit My eBay.

To customize your view, follow these steps:

  1. Select the sections you want in the Summary view
  2. Reorder the sections
  3. Customize each section

To select the sections, start by clicking on the page options link at the top of Summary View page.

Select the sections you want to include, and then click “apply.”

To reorder the sections, locate the section you want to move. Then, in the section’s header, select the Edit drop-down menu.  Move the section in any direction.

To customize each section, choose the section you want to work with. Click the Edit drop-down menu and then select “customize..”

Not Just What Information, But How Much

Decide how many of each category you'd like to see. For example, you can choose not just to see your most recent auction, but a certain number of your most recent auctions.

The next time you visit your 'My eBay' summary page, you'll see information about your eBay life in the format and quantity you've chosen.

If for any reason, you decide you don't like the changes you've made, or you want to stop the process without making any changes at all, you can cancel the changes at any point during the update process, at the bottom of the Customize My Summary page.

Similarly, if you've made changes already but have decided you don't like them and would like to start over, click “Restore Defaults” to have eBay reset your My eBay summary to it's factory-fresh (so to speak) state.

Like most areas of eBay, you can get as much or as little out of your eBay summary page as you put into it. Experiment with some different options until you find the ones best suited for you.
