Personal trainers earn a median income of $34,980 per year, according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics. To be a personal trainer, you need to get certified from a reputable fitness organization. Once certified, you’ll want to develop your personal training service plan. For example, will clients come to your home (check your zoning rules before having clients come to your home) or will you go to theirs? Will you specialize with a specific target market?

A certification in personal fitness, nutrition or other education in health will give clients confidence that you have the education required. Coaching education and certification and help you develop your system and tools, as well as coaching philosophies and strategies.
