George Yacik is a former writer for About.com (now Dotdash) who covered personal finance with a focus on credit and debt issues. 

Yacik has written for a myriad of publications, including American Banker, Interest.com, Bankaholic.com, National Mortgage News, Mortgage Banking magazine, Wright Investors Service, and ino.com.

He spent two decades working for consulting firms serving the largest credit card and consumer lending companies in the U.S. and Canada, and 10 years as a reporter for the Bond Buyer and a managing editor of newsletters for American Banker. He currently works for a Florida-based public relations agency in the mortgage industry.

Yacik has a bachelor's degree in English/journalism from Rutgers University and a graduate certificate in financial management from Sacred Heart University.
