Additionally telecommuting can save you money, and you may find additional money in your budget by telecommuting two or three days a week at your current job. It can also add more flexibility to your day. Many telecommuting jobs will work as second job because the companies are looking for people to work nights and weekends. If you are comfortable with call center work or technical support, you may be able to make a good amount of money. 

There are additional options when it comes to telecommuting. Transcription work is one option, but the learning curve may be a bit steep. Other options may include programming or designing. If you have a specialized skill set, you may really benefit from this option. 

Make Additional Income as a Freelancer

Another option to finding additional income is to work as a freelancer. There are many type of freelance jobs. You can work in graphic design, in video production, as a consultant or as a writer. Look at the skills that you currently have and then consider how you can offer those skills as a service to small businesses or families. Then begin marketing yourself and making contacts. Overtime you may be able to build enough contacts to make this a full-time option for you. If you are considering working as freelancer, you need to have a solid system in place that helps you collect the money for your projects. For individual projects, you may want to require a deposit. You may also want to find a service that can help you with collecting the money that is owed to you. 

It takes time to build a solid income stream as a freelancer, and it is important to remember to diversify when you do. Depending on just one or even two clients can end up with a sudden hit on your income when the work slows down or dries up. Additionally some work may be seasonal, and you will not realize this until you have done the work for at least a year possibly two. Be sure to give yourself time before you quit your job and go completely freelance. 

Start a Business to Increase Your Income

You may also consider opening your own business in order to find additional income. If you are looking at this as a part-time venture you will want a business that has a lower initial startup cost. You may start an Etsy store or work as a party consultant. Eventually you may be ready to branch out and start a business full time. It is important to carefully weigh the costs of starting your own business against the profits that you will make. You need to be profitable or it is not worth the work.

In addition to opening an online store, you may want to think about a blog or some other option that will allow you to generate income with content or a system you have already created. If you can create a passive income stream, it will benefit you in the long run. You may also consider a business where you offer services to others in your area. Services tend to be in demand, and you can branch out until you find a niche that works well for you.

Make Additional Income by Taking a Second Job

Finally you may want to take on a second job for a short-term income solution. This means working long hours, and spending less time relaxing. You will need to inform your employer so that you do not put your first job at risk. You should also look for the job, which will make you the most money for the time that you put in. This means that you will be able to quit your job much sooner. Be sure to protect your full-time job and to prioritize it over your second job. If your quality goes down, you may end up losing it.

When taking on a second job look for a job that will pay more than minimum wage. Jobs where you can earn tips can easily boost the amount you make. Tutoring or private lessons are other great part-time jobs and you have more control over your schedule. Finding the right part-time job can help you make the most of your time and really help you get things done. Taking the time to find a second job that pays will literally pay off much more quickly than just taking the first job you can find at night. Although, you may need to do that temporarily depending on your situation.
