In the United States we have ecommerce giants eBay and Amazon. In China there have Alibaba. But are you familiar with some of the key online shopping and ecommerce platforms in India, the fastest growing online retail country in the Asia Pacific?  Many online retailers are looking at India as a possible destination for global expansion. Here’s why.

Consumers in India are accustomed to products being available 24/7 online and prefer COD (cash on delivery) as the way to pay for their online purchases – something that poses a challenge for American companies interested in doing online business in India.

Young consumers (as shown) are the drivers of growth in India via their smartphones and have a lot of purchasing power. One thing you will notice in exploring the following Indian online retailers is that all legitimate ones have an optimized mobile site and many have a smartphone app to make the mobile commerce experience even better for consumers.
