Domino's restaurant and pizza lovers are deal-happy diners because of a seemingly endless stream of coupons, freebies and discounts and even daily flash deals the #2 pizza chain in America shares with them.  When Domino's customers in the U.S. join the Domino's Piece of the Pie Rewards Program, they can collect points and earn free pizzas.  That's in addition to the Domino's special promos, coupons, deals and discounts that the restaurant chain offers frequently.

The reason why Domino's is so aggressive with its  promotional coupons, freebies, specials, discounts, and deals is at least partly because of these U.S. pizza fun facts:

  • Americans spend more than $38 billion dollars at pizza restaurants each year
  • There are more than 73,000 retail pizza restaurant locations in the U.S.
  • The state with the largest number of pizza restaurant locations is New York, with more than 5,200 independents, small chain, and Big Four pizza restaurants in operation there.
  • So even though the pizza niche is one of the most popular in America, it is also one of the most fiercely competitive, which is why.
  • New Hampshire has the highest number of pizza restaurants per capita, with 3.87 pizza restaurants for every 10,000 people three.  (By contrast, Hawaii has the lowest number of pizza restaurants, with just 1.05 per 10,000 people.)

Any way you slice it (pun intended), that's a lot of competition for Domino's and every other pizza restaurant in the U.S.
