Cory Mitchell, CMT, is a short-term technical trader and financial writer with more than a decade of trading experience.


Cory Mitchell is a proprietary trader and Chartered Market Technician (CMT) specializing in short- to medium-term technical strategies. He is the founder of, a website providing market analysis and trading tutorials.

He is the author of the Forex Strategies Guide for Day and Swing Traders ebook, as well as the Stock Market Swing Trading Video Course.

Mitchell began trading in 2005 as a proprietary trader. There are no clients; the only focus is to generate high returns trading company funds. Sound risk management, solid strategy development, mental focus and a strong work ethic were the keys to success.

In 2011 he left the firm to put more time into writing and educating traders.

Since then he has worked with Fortune 500 companies and multiple international businesses providing analysis, hedging strategies, risk management and consulting services, as well as being a radio guest on multiple programs throughout the U.S. and Canada. 

Mitchell has trading experience in stocks, futures, currencies (forex), exchange traded products (ETFs, ETNs and Trusts) and options. He remains an active trader and investor in multiple markets. 


Cory Mitchell has a bachelor of management degree with a focus in finance from the University of Lethbridge and holds the Chartered Market Technician designation.

He is a member of the Market Technicians Association, the Canadian Society of Technical Analysts and the International Federation of Technical Analysts.
