Store credit cards are affiliated with a store brand and occasionally sister stores owned by the same company. Store credit cards give you the ability to accumulate rewards you can apply to a future purchase. Some store credit cards also offer special financing deals that allow you to pay off your balance over time. We've checked out store credit cards from various retailers and compiled a list of the best. Our list includes:

  • Best for Clothes: Gap Visa
  • Best for Wholesale Clubs: CostCo Anywhere Visa
  • Best for Electronics: Best Buy Credit Card
  • Best for Fast Shipping/Online Shopping: Amazon Prime Store Card
  • Best for Everyday Shopping: Target REDCard
  • Best for Excellent Credit: Macy’s American Express
  • Best for Furniture: Pottery Barn Credit Card
  • Best for Home Goods: Overstock Store Card

When you’re choosing a store credit card, take a look at the rewards and discounts, special financing, interest rate, and your ability to use the credit card for purchases outside of that particular store. Keep in mind that special financing on store credit cards typically means deferred interest. You must pay your full balance during the special financing period, otherwise, you’ll be hit with retroactive interest dating back to the date you first opened your account.
