There was a time when in order get access to the best information about the stock market you had to wade through massive amounts of mostly worthless data.  But today, thanks to our friend the internet, you can not only find the best info with a click of a button, but the best curated info.

So where is this magical info you ask?  In the blogosphere, aka, all of the blogs on the Internet as a collective whole.

Here are my favorites.

The Reformed Broker

Josh Brown will be the first to tell you that he started his career on the wrong side of the market, as a stock broker.  But as his site's name implies, nay screams, he saw the light and moved into the advisory side of the business.  Along the way he became one of the most respected stock market pundits working today.

The Big Picture

Barry Ritholtz doesn't suffer fools well.  And that is good.  With a sharp tongue and a razor wit he takes great pleasure in dispelling the myths of Wall Street on a daily basis.  If you want to know how the financial world really works, Barry will tell you in no uncertain terms.

Howard Lindzon

The creator of StockTwits, Howard also runs his own hedge fund and is an active angel investor. His philosophy in the markets is "Trends....Find them, ride them and get off."  Howard does a great job identifying early trends that translate to specific stocks.

Dragonfly Capital

Greg Harmon is a Certified Market Technician (CMT) who spent over 25 years running money in various capacities for companies like BNP Paribas, State Street, and JPM Morgan.  Where he really excels though is in his ability to incorporate options strategies with equities trading.  On his website Greg lays out detailed analysis of stocks and the major indexes on a daily basis.

He is also the author of the book Trading Options: Using Technical Analysis to Design Winning Trades.

One of the most respected and well-liked traders out there is Brian Shannon aka Alphatrends. Brian was early to the world of financial blogging, having started his site long before the idea became commonplace.  Brian has over 20 years of experience in the market and knows how to break down even the most complex issues so that anyone from beginner to expert can benefit from his knowledge.

One thing I want to point out about these blogs is that even though some of them provide actionable information for the market, they do not give out stock picks.  What they do do is give you a good sense of what is happening in the markets, technology, finance, and the economy as a whole.

These bloggers have their fingers on the pulse of what is happening and provide you with great curated contend which allows you to easily get up to speed in areas where you might not have much expertise.  Then it is up to you to take the information they provide and extrapolate it to find opportunities in the market.

These five blogs are just the tip of the iceberg in terms of the content available on-line for stock market investors and you will do yourself a great service to seek out other bloggers similar to them
